Powerball Jackpot Soars to $1.3 Billion After No Winner

Jackpot Rolls Over After Monday Drawing

The dream of a billion-dollar lottery win continues for at least one more drawing. No ticket matched all six numbers in the Powerball drawing on Monday, September 1, 2025, causing the grand prize to swell to an estimated $1.3 billion. The jackpot for Monday’s draw stood at an impressive $1.1 billion.

The winning numbers for the Labor Day drawing were the white balls 8, 23, 25, 40, 53 and the red Powerball 5. The Power Play multiplier, which increases non-jackpot prizes, was 3x.

This latest rollover marks the 40th consecutive drawing without a jackpot winner since the last grand prize was claimed in California on May 31, 2025. This winless streak is now approaching the game’s record of 42 consecutive drawings, which occurred in 2024.

Next Drawing: A Historic Prize Awaits

Lottery players across the country now have their sights set on the next drawing, scheduled for Wednesday, September 3. The estimated $1.3 billion annuitized jackpot now ranks as the fifth-largest in Powerball history and the ninth-largest among all U.S. lottery games. Should a single winner choose the lump-sum cash option, they would receive an estimated $589.0 million before taxes.

As reported by digitaltrendstoday.com, the odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 292.2 million, but the overall odds of winning any prize are a more favorable 1 in 24.9.

Numerous Big Winners Despite No Jackpot

While the top prize remained elusive, Monday’s drawing produced a dozen million-dollar winners and numerous other significant prizes. Lottery officials urge all players to check their tickets carefully.

Two tickets, sold in Montana and North Carolina, matched all five white balls and included the Power Play option, turning a $1 million prize into a $2 million windfall.

Ten other tickets matched all five white balls to win the standard $1 million prize. These winning tickets were sold in the following states:

  • California
  • Florida
  • Kentucky
  • Massachusetts
  • Michigan
  • New Jersey (2 tickets)
  • New York
  • Pennsylvania
  • Virginia

Beyond the million-dollar prizes, 124 tickets won $50,000 by matching four white balls and the Powerball, while another 25 tickets won $150,000 by doing the same with the Power Play option included.

How to Play Powerball

For those looking to try their luck in Wednesday’s massive drawing, participating is simple. Tickets cost $2 per play and are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Players select five numbers from 1 to 69 and one Powerball number from 1 to 26. For an additional $1 per play, you can add the Power Play feature, which multiplies non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10 times. The 10x multiplier is only in play when the advertised jackpot is $150 million or less.

Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET. If no one wins the jackpot, the prize money rolls over and continues to grow for the next drawing.
