Joseann Alexie Offerman, widely known as JoJo, recently made a significant return to the professional wrestling spotlight, captivating audiences with a live vocal performance at All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) highly anticipated All In event on July 12, 2025. Her appearance, singing Chaka Khan’s iconic “Ain’t Nobody” as part of Swerve Strickland’s entrance, marked a poignant moment for fans, especially given her personal connection to the wrestling world.
Born on March 10, 1994, in Los Angeles, California, JoJo is the daughter of former professional baseball star José Offerman. Her journey into professional wrestling began in May 2013 when she joined WWE as part of the inaugural season of the E! Network’s reality television show, Total Divas. At just 19 years old, she made her main roster debut on the June 26, 2013, episode of WWE Main Event, where she showcased her vocal talents by singing the entrance theme for the tag team Tons of Funk. Her rendition of the song was later released on iTunes, highlighting her multifaceted abilities as a singer, dancer, and athlete.
Throughout her initial WWE tenure, JoJo quickly became a recognizable face. She famously sang the United States national anthem at SummerSlam on August 18, 2013, and even participated in a few in-ring matches. Notably, she was part of the victorious “Total Divas” team at the Survivor Series pay-per-view in 2013, and secured her first in-ring victory the following night on Raw by pinning Tamina Snuka in a rematch. However, her role soon transitioned from active competitor to a prominent behind-the-scenes presence.
In late 2013, JoJo moved to WWE’s developmental territory, NXT, where she began serving as a ring announcer. Her talent in this role led to her promotion to the main roster in April 2015, becoming a regular ring announcer for Main Event, SmackDown, Raw, and pay-per-views, in addition to her duties as a backstage interviewer. She held the position of RAW brand ring announcer from 2016 until 2018, remaining under contract with WWE until her quiet departure in early 2021.
Her recent appearances in AEW signal a new chapter in her career. Prior to her All In performance, JoJo had made a return to ring announcing for an AEW Collision dark match on January 4, 2025. Her live vocal performance for Swerve Strickland at All In was particularly significant, as “Ain’t Nobody” was a theme song Swerve used during his independent wrestling career, adding a layer of personal history to the moment. The performance was followed by Swerve’s regular theme, “Big Pressure,” as he made his way to the ring alongside Prince Nana.
Beyond her professional endeavors, JoJo’s personal life has also been in the public eye. She was in a relationship with and later engaged to the late WWE superstar Windham Rotunda, famously known as Bray Wyatt. The couple had two children together. Tragically, Rotunda passed away on August 24, 2023, due to a heart attack, making JoJo his widow. Her return to the wrestling stage, especially with such a prominent and emotional performance, resonates deeply with fans who have followed her journey and shared in her personal losses.
JoJo Offerman’s career has been marked by versatility and resilience. From her beginnings as a reality TV personality and aspiring wrestler to becoming an acclaimed ring announcer and now making impactful guest appearances, she continues to leave her mark on the wrestling world. Her performance at AEW All In not only added a unique flair to Swerve Strickland’s entrance but also served as a powerful reminder of her enduring talent and connection to the industry.
