Jake Paul and Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis Reportedly Set for November Exhibition on Netflix

Netflix is reportedly continuing its aggressive push into live boxing, with reports indicating a blockbuster exhibition match is set between social media star Jake Paul and two-division champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis. The lucrative showdown is slated for November 15 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, precisely one year after Paul’s highly-publicized bout against Mike Tyson.

The news first emerged from a report by Ring Magazine on Wednesday, which was seemingly corroborated by a now-deleted social media post from Netflix’s official Turkish account. However, a significant scheduling conflict casts some doubt on the reported details, as the State Farm Arena is currently booked to host comedian Nate Bargatze’s “Big Dumb Eyes” tour on the same evening.

This potential matchup continues Netflix’s strategy of hosting high-profile, money-spinning boxing events. The streaming giant, which boasts over 300 million subscribers, entered the boxing world with the Paul vs. Tyson event and is also set to broadcast the monumental clash between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Terence Crawford on September 13. Adding a Paul vs. Davis fight would further solidify its position as a major player in combat sports broadcasting.

For Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KOs), this fight represents another step in his unconventional but undeniably successful boxing career. The 28-year-old internet personality is coming off a unanimous decision victory over former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in June, a win that earned him his first official world ranking. Before that, he defeated heavyweight legend Mike Tyson in a sanctioned professional bout in November 2024. According to reports, discussions for a fight against former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua had recently collapsed due to network-related issues, paving the way for the potential Davis bout.

Gervonta Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs) would enter the ring as the vastly more experienced and technically skilled boxer. However, his path to this fight has been complicated. It was widely anticipated that Davis would have a rematch with Lamont Roach following their controversial draw in March. That fight was derailed when Davis was arrested in July on a misdemeanor battery-domestic violence charge. The charge was dropped last week after the alleged victim declined to prosecute, but the legal proceedings disrupted his fighting schedule. Subsequently, Roach’s camp announced they were “moving on” from an immediate rematch, believing Davis’s team was no longer interested.

The proposed exhibition presents a classic clash of styles and physical attributes. While Davis is a decorated champion known for his power and skill, he would face a significant size disparity. Paul, who competes at cruiserweight and even fought Tyson at heavyweight, would likely have a weight advantage of over 50 pounds against the lightweight champion. This size difference, pitted against Davis’s elite boxing pedigree, creates a compelling narrative that is sure to attract a massive audience.

While the conflicting venue schedule remains an unresolved issue, the reports signal strong interest in making this crossover event a reality. Should the logistical hurdles be cleared, the fight between “The Problem Child” and “Tank” is poised to be one of the year’s most talked-about and financially successful boxing exhibitions, further blurring the lines between traditional boxing and modern sports entertainment.
