Ironmouse Departs VShojo Amid Allegations of Unpaid Funds and Charity Donations

In a significant development within the VTuber community, popular Puerto Rican streamer Ironmouse announced her immediate resignation from VShojo on July 21, 2025. The departure comes with serious allegations that the agency, which Ironmouse helped co-found, owes her a substantial amount of money and has withheld over $500,000 in charitable donations intended for the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF).

Ironmouse, known for her distinctive high-pitched voice and demon queen persona, began her streaming career in 2017. Her journey into virtual entertainment was born out of necessity; diagnosed with Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID) and a lung infection called mycobacterium avium complex, she has been largely bedridden and isolated, requiring 24/7 oxygen support. This health condition prevented her from pursuing her initial dream of becoming a coloratura soprano opera singer. Inspired by the pioneering VTuber Kizuna AI, Ironmouse adopted a digital avatar to conceal her identity and connect with others, transforming her isolation into a thriving online presence. Her character, a horned demon, is playfully referred to as a personification of Satan, a nod to her on-stream jokes (Source).

Her career has been marked by remarkable success and philanthropic efforts. In November 2020, Ironmouse became a charter member of VShojo, a U.S.-based agency for English-language VTubers. She quickly rose to prominence, frequently collaborating with fellow content creators like Welsh YouTuber CDawgVA. Her subathon events have consistently broken records; in February 2022, she became the most-subscribed female streamer on Twitch, accumulating nearly 172,000 subscribers over 31 days and becoming the first VTuber to enter Twitch’s monthly top 10 most-watched streamers. Her June 2023 charity subathon further shattered her own record, reaching 205,488 subscribers, with half of the revenue dedicated to the IDF (Source).

Ironmouse’s influence extends beyond streaming records. She has been a vocal advocate for CVID and Primary Immunodeficiency (PI) awareness, using her platform to educate viewers and encourage plasma donations. Her efforts have been recognized by the Immune Deficiency Foundation, which awarded her the “Plasma Hero Award” at the 2024 PI Conference. She has also released music, including “Carry On” in June 2024, which served as the ending song for the IDF documentary “Compromised: Life Without Immunity” (Source).

Her achievements culminated in December 2023 when she won Content Creator of the Year at The Game Awards, making her the first VTuber to receive this prestigious award. In September 2024, Ironmouse briefly surpassed Kai Cenat to become the most-subscribed channel on Twitch, setting an all-time record for the platform, though Cenat later reclaimed the title in November 2024. She continued her winning streak at The Streamer Awards in December 2024, securing Best VTuber for the third consecutive year and being nominated for Best Marathon Stream and the Sapphire Award. StreamsCharts also named her the most-watched female streamer on Twitch in 2024 (Source).

The recent split from VShojo marks a pivotal moment. In her announcement, Ironmouse stated that VShojo had failed to pay her a “significant amount of money” and had not remitted over $500,000 in charity donations to the Immune Deficiency Foundation from her Twitch revenue. While she expressed a desire to share more details, her attorneys advised her to allow the legal process to unfold. Notably, VShojo’s policy allows departing talents to retain their name, intellectual property, and avatars, meaning Ironmouse will continue her content creation as an independent VTuber. She has urged her fans to donate directly to the IDF via Tiltify, pledging that all ad revenue from her announcement video would also go to the charity (Source).

Ironmouse’s departure is not an isolated incident for VShojo. She is the fourth talent to leave the agency in June and July 2025, following Matara Kan, Geega, and co-founder Zentreya. Another co-founding member, Nyanners, also departed in 2023 due to a contract dispute. As of now, VShojo has not issued a public response to Ironmouse’s allegations. Her move to independence, while fraught with legal challenges, underscores her commitment to her community and her philanthropic causes, as she navigates this new chapter in her groundbreaking career.
