Donald Trump Calls for Prosecution of Beyoncé and Other Celebrities Over 2024 Campaign Endorsements

In a recent development that has drawn significant attention, former President Donald Trump has publicly called for the prosecution of prominent figures, including global superstar Beyoncé, for their alleged involvement in the 2024 presidential campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump’s accusations, detailed in a post on his Truth Social platform late Saturday night, claim that Democrats made illegal payments for celebrity endorsements.

According to a report by Consequence.net, Trump specifically alleged that the Democrats paid “Eleven Million Dollars to singer Beyoncé for an ENDORSEMENT (she never sang, not one note, and left the stage to a booing and angry audience!), Three Million Dollars for ‘expenses,’ to Oprah, Six Hundred Thousand Dollars to very low rated TV ‘anchor,’ Al Sharpton (a total lightweight!), and others to be named for doing, absolutely NOTHING!” He further asserted that these “ridiculous fees were incorrectly stated in the books and records,” and that “YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PAY FOR AN ENDORSEMENT. IT IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL TO DO SO. Can you imagine what would happen if politicians started paying for people to endorse them. All hell would break out! Kamala, and all of those that received Endorsement money, BROKE THE LAW. They should all be prosecuted!”

However, these claims are directly contradicted by investigations into campaign finances. A New York Times investigation, cited by Consequence.net, confirmed that while Kamala Harris’s campaign did spend significant funds on rallies and events featuring celebrity endorsers like Beyoncé, Oprah, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry, these expenses were allocated towards support staff and production costs, not as direct payments to the celebrities themselves. This clarification suggests that Trump’s allegations of illegal payments for endorsements are unfounded. It’s also worth noting that Trump had previously called for a “major investigation” into pro-Harris celebrity endorsers in March, but no action resulted from those demands, likely due to the lack of evidence supporting his claims.

The former President’s recent demands also highlight a perceived double standard, as numerous celebrities openly campaigned on his behalf during the 2024 election, including Kid Rock, Hulk Hogan, Jason Aldean, Brett Favre, and Tony Hinchcliffe. None of these individuals have faced similar calls for prosecution from Trump, despite their public support.

Beyoncé, a globally recognized artist, has a long history of political engagement. She endorsed Joe Biden in the 2020 election and publicly supported Kamala Harris in 2024, even granting permission for her song “Freedom” to be used as the official campaign song for Harris’s presidential bid, as detailed on Wikipedia. Her political activities have consistently been public and transparent, aligning with her broader advocacy for social justice and women’s empowerment.

Beyond the political arena, Beyoncé continues to achieve significant milestones in her career. Her latest album, “Cowboy Carter,” released in 2024, has been a critical and commercial success. At the 2025 Grammy Awards, she made history by becoming the first Black artist to win Best Country Album for “Cowboy Carter,” and also took home the coveted Album of the Year award, the first Black woman to do so since Lauryn Hill in 1999, according to Spotify and Wikipedia. She is currently on her “Cowboy Carter Tour,” with dates scheduled through July 26, 2025. Her entrepreneurial ventures also continue to expand, with the launch of her hair care line, Cécred, in February 2024, and her whiskey brand, SirDavis, in August 2024. As of June 2025, Forbes estimates her net worth at an impressive $780 million. Furthermore, her philanthropic efforts remain active, including a $2.5 million donation to Los Angeles fire relief funds in January 2025.

The accusations from Donald Trump appear to be part of a pattern of unsubstantiated claims against political opponents and their supporters. The factual record indicates that the expenses incurred by the Harris campaign were for legitimate event production, not illegal endorsement payments, underscoring the importance of verifying information in political discourse.
