The internet is abuzz following a viral incident at a Coldplay concert in Boston on July 16, 2025, where a “kiss cam” inadvertently captured Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot, in an embrace. The moment, which quickly spread across social media, has ignited widespread speculation about an alleged affair and brought unwanted scrutiny to the tech executives.
The now-infamous footage, originally filmed by 28-year-old Coldplay fan Grace Springer and viewed tens of millions of times, shows Byron with his arms around Cabot’s waist. As the jumbotron panned to them, both executives visibly recoiled, attempting to hide their faces. Byron was heard exclaiming, “F***ing hell, it’s me,” while Cabot appeared to mouth, “This is awkward.” Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, noticing their reaction, quipped to the audience, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” adding later, “I hope we didn’t do something bad…” (New York Post, Variety).
The video’s rapid virality led online sleuths to quickly identify the pair. It was soon revealed that Andy Byron is reportedly married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, who has since deactivated her social media accounts. Kristin Cabot had recently divorced her husband, Kenneth Thornby (New York Post, Us Magazine). The fan who filmed the clip, Grace Springer, expressed mixed feelings, telling The US Sun, “A part of me feels bad for turning these people’s lives upside down, but, play stupid games… win stupid prizes.” She added, “I hope their partners can heal from this and get a second chance at the happiness they deserve.” Byron also deleted his LinkedIn profile in the wake of the scandal.
The incident has raised significant questions regarding workplace conduct, particularly given Cabot’s role as the head of Human Resources at Astronomer. Employment lawyer William Cafaro of Big Apple-based Buzin Law commented on the severity of the situation, stating to The New York Post, “It’s horrible because she is the head of HR! She’s involved in an extramarital affair with the CEO. Basically, how much worse of an HR faux pas could you commit?” He further noted that the only worse scenario would be an HR head having an affair with a subordinate. Neither Byron nor Cabot has publicly commented on the matter.
Astronomer, a company specializing in data-operations software, has remained silent on the viral video and the allegations. The company’s social media presence has been inundated with memes and misinformation, including fake apology statements attributed to Byron and satirical posts from purported Coldplay accounts (Variety).
Adding another layer to the controversy, a 2018 report from The Information has resurfaced, detailing allegations against Byron during his tenure as Chief Revenue Officer at cybersecurity firm Cybereason. Former employees claimed Byron would “lash out against employees who disagreed with him, including threatening to fire them,” and that “You couldn’t challenge him.” He was accused of putting “exorbitant pressure” on staff, leading to departures, and reportedly hired loyal salespeople from his previous company, Fuze, to replace them. At the time, Byron denied bad behavior, stating that “difficult decisions” were made to achieve growth (Page Six).
Kristin Cabot joined Astronomer as Chief People Officer in November 2024, with Byron himself announcing her hiring and praising her “exceptional leadership and deep expertise in talent management.” Cabot, in turn, expressed being “energized” by her conversations with Byron during the hiring process, emphasizing her role in aligning “people strategy with business strategy” (Us Magazine).
