Jefferson’s football lineage is notable, as he is the son of former 13-year NFL receiver and current coach, Shawn Jefferson. The younger Jefferson made a name for himself at Ravenwood High School before a productive collegiate career split between Ole Miss (2015-2017) and the University of Florida (2018-2019). Across his time with both programs, he accumulated 175 receptions for 2,159 yards and 16 touchdowns, establishing himself as a reliable and polished route-runner.
His performance in college caught the eye of the Los Angeles Rams, who selected him in the second round (57th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. Jefferson’s tenure in Los Angeles was highlighted by a breakout 2021 season, where he set career-highs with 50 receptions for 802 yards and six touchdowns. That season culminated in the ultimate prize as Jefferson and the Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 to win Super Bowl LVI. Following his championship run with the Rams, Jefferson’s career path led him to several other teams. On October 10, 2023, he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons. He then signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers on March 18, 2024, playing the subsequent season with the team. According to Pro Football Reference, Jefferson has amassed 137 receptions for 1,876 yards and 12 touchdowns over his career in the regular season.
In a move that marks a significant homecoming, Jefferson signed with the Tennessee Titans. The signing brings the Brentwood native back to his home state, where he will play on the same practice fields his father once coached on.
