Here Comes the Bride: Mattel Unveils Monster High Skullector Doll of Tim Burton’s Emily

In a move that has sent waves of excitement through both doll collecting and film enthusiast communities, Mattel has announced the latest addition to its prestigious Monster High Skullector series: a doll inspired by Emily, the titular character from Tim Burton’s 2005 stop-motion classic, Corpse Bride. The release is timed to celebrate the film’s upcoming 20th anniversary, offering a meticulously crafted tribute to the beloved gothic romance.

The Monster High Skullector line is renowned for its high-fashion, horror-inspired interpretations of iconic characters, and the Emily doll is a masterful continuation of this tradition. Standing at 10.5 inches tall with 11 points of articulation, the doll features a first-of-its-kind body sculpt for the line, complete with an exposed skeletal arm, leg, and rib cage, faithfully recreating Emily’s undead form. This attention to detail establishes the figure as a premium collectible intended for an adult audience, with a recommended age of 17 and up.

Emily’s “grave-couture” ensemble is a direct homage to her on-screen appearance, yet elevated with the signature Monster High flair. She wears a layered bridal gown featuring gauzy, spiderweb-patterned mesh over a silky blue tulle underlay. The dress is cinched at the waist with eerie black vines, and her look is completed by a matching headpiece with a delicate, butterfly-strewn lace veil. Even her companions from the film make an appearance; Maggot is cleverly styled as an earring, while her skeletal dog, Scraps, is incorporated into the design of one of her dramatic black heels, with the other heel resembling a gnarled tree.

The unboxing experience is designed to be as memorable as the doll itself. According to Mattel Creations, the premium packaging juxtaposes the Land of the Living with the Land of the Dead. A specialty insert inside the box echoes the film’s poignant final scene in the church, where Emily finds peace. Each doll comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and a doll stand for display.

Collectors eager to add Emily to their shelves should mark their calendars. The doll, priced at $71.00 in the U.S. and $119.99 in Australia, is scheduled for an exclusive launch on the Mattel Creations website. Members of the Monster High “Fang Club” will have a 24-hour early access window to purchase the doll starting on August 8, 2025, at 12:00 AM PT. Following this exclusive period, the doll may become available at other major retailers. Listings have already appeared on platforms like Amazon, where it quickly achieved a “#1 Best Seller” rank in the Dolls category, and Target, signaling high demand. The Australian Mattel site notes that the doll will ship on or before August 31, 2025.

This collaboration between Monster High and Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. represents a perfect marriage of two beloved gothic properties. By capturing the melancholic beauty of the Corpse Bride with the unique aesthetic of Monster High, Mattel has created a must-have collectible that is sure to be a centerpiece in any collection for years to come.
